Introducing MIM’s Newest Voice Teacher Debby Boland Watt
DEBBY BOLAND WATT, Master Teacher, Beginning to Advanced Voice
This workshop will address the participant’s vocal potential, readying them for: recitals, concerts, competitions, gigs or simply build new healthy vocal awareness towards personal enrichment. Specific attention, primarily during your private lesson, will be spent on important vocal qualities such as: vocal technique & breath management, intonation, phrasing, diction, expression/interpretation, preparedness/stage presence, and sight singing.
Mercer Island Music is proud to introduce their newest Voice Instructor by hosting this Workshop allowing for curious students and their families to learn more about how Ms. Watt approaches important issues related to the serious voice student. Ms. Watt has a Master of Fine Arts – Interdisciplinary Arts Degree from Goddard College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts. Currently, she teaches creative approaches to Voice & Art at area schools in addition to her Tacoma studio. A strong vocalist, improvisational performance artist and master teacher, her unique musical vision embraces classical, folk & spiritual, pop, jazz & free improvisation, a cappella circle singing, spoken word & poetics.

4:00 – 4:30 Vocal Play for All Students, led by Ms. Watt

Available: Coffee & Tea. Please bring snacks for yourself if you think you’ll need them.
If your student will be attending this workshop as an Adaptive Learner, Ms. Watt will talk with you prior to the workshop.
Siblings are welcome if they are able to sit quietly so as to not disturb sessions.
